Artali Festival
Artali festival is an annual event celebrating the traditional culture of the four language groups living in Ali Curung; Kaytetye, Allyawarr, Waramungu, Warlpiri.
It is a time when community members, services providers, stakeholders and visitors work together, share their skills and participate in the development and preservation of the Indigenous cultural heritage.
Every year, Arlpwe Art and Culture Centre invite family and friends from nearby communities to join us and showcase their traditional dancing. In recent years, we have had the pleasure of hosting performers from Ampilatwatja, Tara (Barrow Creek) and Tennant Creek.
Alongside the dancing, we host traditional activities like spear-throwing competitions and boomerang throwing and a big traditional cook up, usually consisting of roo tails, stew, damper and lots of tea! The night ends with a concert and a big community bbq.
