"These are sandhills where we collect bush foods, tucker and medicines. When it is green it is fresh. The ochre is natural pigment from the rocks in Ali Curung."
Sonya Murphy Napaljarri paints aerial landscapes of the warping sandhills around Ali Curung. This is the area where her grandmother and aunties took her hunting for bush tucker when she was young. Painting these areas bring back fond memories of family that have passed.
